I read an article recently about a woman called Hannah Martin who decided to record one thing or moment that she was grateful for, each day for 365 days. She called it 365 Grateful project. I thought about it and wondered how I would do finding something to be grateful for each and every day. It was just too easy. Here are just a few of the things I am grateful for.
I am grateful every day that friends and family in Christchurch came to no harm during the devastating earthquakes they have endured.
I am grateful every day that we managed to avoid inundation during the floods that Brisbane suffered in January.
I am grateful everyday that we do not live in Japan or Sumatra, which were so devastated by tsunamis.
This ANZAC day and every other I am grateful for those that died so that we can live the life of freedom that we do.
On a more personal note I am grateful every night I get into bed and we have managed to keep Lulu from serious harm for that day. It is getting a little easier now but there was a time when I was such a familiar face at the hospital the admin staff included me in their morning coffee run.
I am grateful that I have our wonderfully intuitive and clever Molly to point out exactly where I am going wrong each day. I don’t know how I got through each day before she came along.
I am grateful every day that I have Pete to back Molly up and be there when I need him. He really is very patient, and caring and I really am very lucky to have him.
I am toying with the idea that I might start a 365 Grateful project for myself, posting some of the moments on a page in this Blog. I will add that to my list of things to do, now if I can only find the end of it…
